Obituary for Netta Darlene Earl

Netta "Darlene" Earl passed away at home November 10th, 2018, at the age of 75, she was surrounded by her family. Born May 24th, 1943, in Redlands, CA, to George and Eula Tarvin.

She grew up a little bit here and there as her father was a melon packer. Starting grade school in Texas but she would finish the class year back in California. Darlene graduated from Marysville High School in 1961 and attended Yuba College where she achieved her AA degree.

Supporting herself while in college she worked for Pools Jewelers and Cottons Cowboy corral. Cotton called her the best sales person he ever had, said she could sell ice to an Eskimo. Little did she know then that she would become a very successful realtor in the years to come.

In 1965 she started working as a hostess at the County Kitchen in Gridley, CA. The job turned out to be life changing for her as she met the love of her life, Ron and married him 13 days later. Ron and Darlene were married for 53 years, he was her hunk of burning love.

In 1966, they were living in Gridley and welcomed their son Baron into this world. Children were something she always wanted and in 1968 along came Holly.

Darlene was always busy helping on numerous events in both Marysville and Yuba City. You could find her announcing the parades in downtown Marysville, working on the United Way telethon and raising money for Casa de Esperanza. She built many lasting friendships throughout her life as she had an ability to connect with people and if you became one of "hers" you knew it as she was a fearless friend to the end.

They moved to Yuba City in 1972 where she started her lifelong career as a Realtor. Darlene started at Sunshine Real Estate but eventually moved to Hub Realty where she worked for over 25 years. In 2002 she joined the Interwest Homes family to sell new homes and work with her daughter Holly. Darlene was a realtor for over 45 years. Belonging to SYAOR she served on many committees throughout the years and served as President in 1997. She co-founded the Realtors and Friends charitable golf tournament which is still one of the largest fundraisers today for the association.

Grandchildren slowed her work life down some as they were her life and they could do no wrong. Cole was born in 1995, along came Samantha in 1996 and Case in 2000. She delighted in time spent with them and they all had a special place in her heart. She enjoyed traveling with Ron to Indio where they spent the winters. Living there 5 months a year they made new friendships and enjoyed retirement.

Darlene's life was lived to the fullest. She was known to be a very strong, hardworking, dedicated, loyal friend, sister, mother and wife. If Darlene had your back things were going to be ok!

Darlene is survived by her loving family, husband, Ron Earl; son, Baron Earl; daughter, Holly Shackleford; grandsons, Cole and Case Cummings; granddaughter, Samantha Earl; brothers, Robert and Claude Tarvin; and sister, Robin Eindinger.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her honor to the Sutter Yuba Association of Realtors Charitable Foundation, c/o Darlene Earl Memorial, 1158 Starr Dr., Yuba City, CA 95993.
